Shoulder pain is common, and it can make everyday things like lifting your bag or brushing your hair hard. The most common reasons for shoulder pain are due to trauma, work injuries, and can come with aging. One common cause of shoulder pain is rotator cuff injury. This happens when the muscles and tendons go through more stress than they can handle. You might feel a dull ache, weakness, and it may be hard to lift your arm. Without help, this kind of injury can get worse!

 

Frozen Shoulder

Another reason your shoulder might hurt is from something called frozen shoulder. This makes your shoulder feel stiff and painful. It can last a long time if you don’t treat it. Stretches, gentle massages, and exercises can help your shoulder move again without pain.

 

Lifestyle Factors

If moving your arm hurts because of shoulder pain, you also need to think about how you live. This means looking at things like how much you sleep, what you eat, how much water you drink, how stressed you feel, and how active you are. All of these things can affect your shoulder. Try to find the one thing that could help you feel better and work on that first.

 

Getting Fit Again

When your shoulder is starting to hurt, less activity is more! After a few weeks, you might be able to move your shoulder more and start exercising again. As you get better, return to your normal routine but with better habits so your shoulder stays strong.
